On April 3rd, 2018 at 12:00 noon Eastern Time, a group of gamers will gather to raise money for Help Hope Live at Pokéthon Blossom, the ninth gaming marathon to date produced by The Pokéthon Team. During the event, the team will be playing through most main games of Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise while broadcasting the gameplay to Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers. The event is estimated to run 120+ hours aiming to raise $20,000. Help Hope Live is a non-profit organization that emphasizes their mission to “support community-based fundraising for people with unmet medical and related expenses due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses.”
The Pokéthon Blossom livestream will be full of fun, lively personalities who will encourage viewers to donate to the worthwhile cause. The marathon will offer creative and entertaining donation goals throughout its duration to inspire contributions. Donation incentives include game races, wacky challenges, and much more, including both attendee and viewer involvement.
The Pokéthon Team has produced eight marathons throughout the past four years and has experienced exponential growth with the support of its loving community. Our most recent marathon was held in July 2017 raised over $15,000 for Help Hope Live, marking a combined total of over $50,000 raised with previous marathons.
